Blake Hill Preserves

Since the spring of 2013, Ian and Caitlin Ackermann have been producing maple syrup on their land in the hills of Cabot, Vermont. After buying their first 26 acres in 2012, they have expanded to 148 acres, with over 10,000 maple trees. They use a wood fire to boil the sap into syrup, and package in all glass, keeping as sustainable as possible. They have been attending 10 farmers' markets a week for the past five years, spreading their maple products around Massachusetts. In October 2017, they welcomed their first baby, who began going to farmers' markets at just 8 days old.
