Based in Hawley, MA, Macca Gene Creamery is a small, family-run dairy. Their delicious yogurt starts with just two ingredients — the sweet, high-protein milk from their grass-fed cows, and a blend of probiotic cultures. They then blend in real maple syrup, produced by Snowshoe Farm in Worthington, MA. Their yogurt is made from whole pasteurized, but unhomogenized milk. Because their milk is not homogenized, you will see a layer of cream that rises to the top of the yogurt. They never use hormones or antibiotics and their cows graze on certified organic pasture.

Macca Gene Creamery produces over 6000 quarts of certified organic yogurt each week in the creamery right on the farm. In 2020, Macca Gene and Meadowsweet Farm joined forces in a partnership of farm and creamery, and now work together to produce organic food for our community. Meadowsweet Farm now manages 225 acres of certified organic pastures and hayfields, woodlands, and big sky, with a herd of nearly 80 organic, grass-fed Normande and Jersey cows that produce delicious raw milk, yogurt, and grass-fed beef. The cows eat certified organic pasture in the spring, summer, and fall, and organic hay and baleage (those giant marshmallow bales) in winter.
